Kristin Neff, Ph.D. is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on self-compassion, being the first one to operationally define and measure the construct over a decade ago. In addition to her pioneering research into self-compassion, she has developed an eight-week program to teach self-compassion skills in daily life, co-created with her colleague socket5 协议, called Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). Her book, Self-Compassion, was published by William Morrow in April, 2011.

Fierce Self-Compassion Workshop, Online

This unique workshop is focused on integrating yin and yang – tender and fierce – self-compassion. Yin self-compassion involves “being with” ourselves in a compassionate way, as we naturally do for our friends who struggle. Yang self-compassion involves taking action in the world to protect, provide and motivate ourselves – saying “no” to others who are hurting us, drawing our boundaries firmly; giving ourselves what we need to be fulfilled mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually; and motivating ourselves to reach our goals or make needed changes. It will teach theory, research, and concrete practices from the empirically-supported Mindful Self-Compassion program, as well as new practices developed specifically to engender fierce self-compassion. Participants of this workshop will be taught over two days (in three hour sessions) online via zoom. Aug 8-9 from (1-4pm PT). It is most appropriate for individuals who already have some experience practicing self-compassion. It is relevant for the general public as well as to practicing mental health professionals.Sponsored by Insight LA

TEDx Talk: The difference between self-compassion and self-esteem
Mindful Self-Compassion combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion, providing a powerful tool for emotional resilience. A randomized controlled trial demonstrated that MSC significantly increased self-compassion, compassion for others, mindfulness, and life satisfaction, as well as decreased depression, anxiety and stress. Visit the Center for Mindful Self Compassion to learn more about MSC and how it can help you have a healthier relationship to yourself.
